- Bouncing Through The Ages
People have always bounced. Leaping and jumping is a natural act tapped by the young in their play, forming an important part of recreation and physical education. Bouncing epitomizes fitness as you spring into step, energizing your being with zest and vigor. With your bouncer you are able to reclaim your natural instinct to jump.
As far back as the middle age, travelling acrobats specialized in plank leaping, jumping over a variety of objects, including each other. Eskimos stretched walrus skins between stakes in the ice, bouncing zealously off and upon them. Inspired by the trapeze artist who ends his act dropping into a net, George Nissen set about designing the first trampoline around 1936. Throughout World War II, the American Armed Forces adopted the equipment as part of their training program to aid the development of aerial orientation, coordination and motor skills.
