- Invisible Pumps
Your blood is taken on its journey by the pumping of your heart. But even though lymph flows for thousands of miles though out your body it has no such pump. The flow is regulated by series of valves, which depend on definite stimulant for activation. On an x-ray you see a string of pearls with valves that open as the muscle belly is filled and compressed. You depend on an increase in pressure below the valve to open the leaf and shunt the lymph forward. Bouncing offers one of the most powerful forces to activate conditions which pump your lymph. To create an increase in pressure you depend on:
* Deep and full breathing.
* Changes in gravitational pull
* Muscular contraction and stimulation.
* Changes in atmospheric pressure
* Activation of calf, thigh and abdominal muscles.
All of these conditions are fulfilled effortlessly as you bounce.
There has been much research connecting lymphatic response to the changing G-Force as you bounce. It is considered that: (1) Bouncing up against the downward pull of gravity closes one-way valves, regulating the flow of fluids; (2) Moving down again release pressure in the valves. Increases G-Force when you depress the mat produces a healthy surge of fluid through your body. As the pressure in your tissues charges, the flow of lymph is shunted on. You body thrives on the change in speed and direction that occurs twice with each jump.
