You can bounce buoyantly without worrying about potential shock impact to your joints, skeleton or muscles. The impact your body absorbs on a quality bouncing unit is equivalent to waling on a carpeted surface. Vulnerable knees, ankles and backs are relatively stress-free. The impact is spread not only over a greater range, but a longer period.

As you bounce, the first portion of your weight deforms the surface of the mat as it gives. By the time you have been going down for several milliseconds, which spreads the impact, tension will be spread along with the abruptness to which it is applied to your ligaments and joints. Further damage due to possible ripping in your muscle fibers, is prevented by the excellent balance of eccentric and concentric muscle contractions. Additional protection is offered to your spinal nerves, at the base of your spine, because the peak force isn't nearly as high.

Simply to maintain your balance when you bounce, your posture must be naturally aligned, which in itself offers protection from injury. Those of you who are overweight or suffering signs of wear and tear are able to relieve tension and become fitter, as your gently loosen stiff muscles without straining your joints.
